Featured Replies

ive heard rumors of being able to pull snook out of canals from my elders. they have said that the indians would trade these snooks with them. they claim they caught them in the canals by the micosukee indian resort & gambling place. any help is appreciated.

Not rumors, Snook are in there and throughout various other S. Florida Canals, as well as Tarpon. I've been fortunate enough to catch both.  I never targeted them specifically I was fishing for either Peacock or Largemouth.  Same techniques work.  Caught my tarpon on a Tiny Torpedo and have caught snook on everything from rattle traps to x-raps.

They're in there! I've seen them. I lived down that way for about a year in the early 90's.

I have caught small snook and tarpon behind the Lauderhill Mall [10 yrs ago] and recently at the Holeylands a Tarpon on a SR-5.

Give snapper creek right off of sunset drive a try.
