need help fast... clear water (flashy or matte?)

Featured Replies

here in utah, the lakes i fish are very clear. i am getting a perch colored crankbait but can't decide between a flashy matalic color or a natural matte color. in clear water, do you want flashy lures or non flasy (matte) ones?

i know flashy colors work better in muddy water, but are they good in clear water, or is matte the better choice? would a flashy bait attract fish from farther away in clear water? i'm just confused....

so i guess the $1,000,000 dollar question is what lure color for clear water?

a fast response will help because i need to make my order before everything else gets shipped. thanks!

i would try one of each, just experiment, i have caught fish in clear water with a spinner bait with a willow leaf and also with a painted willow leaf. just experiment with what you got and see what the fish want.

I had the same problem with clear waters... The key to unlock this problem was the glass minnow colors of rapala which are semi-transparent

GP - Glass Perch

GPP - Glass Purple Perch

and GMN - Glass Minnow

are very effective.. If you are into jerkbaits, try this colors on husky jerk for clear waters..and you will remember me  ;)

I want some feedback afterwards, good luck

hey most of the lakes here are pretty clear too    i like to switch it up  sometimes the fish likes more natural colors but then there are days they will hit very flashy lures    i like to keep my crankbaits in a natural color then my jerkbaits and topwaters in a flashy color
