Finally got the problem with the starter in our outboard fixed so got out to Occoquan today.  Only the second time I've been able to get out since getting back from college 2 weeks ago.  Got a lot of catching up to do.  This reports nothin special but figured some of you might be curious.  Gave in to their requests and headed out with 2 friends that are girls  ;).  So as you could guess I was on my own as far as piecing together any kind of pattern.  Water was still real muddy, probably a foot of visibility.  Water temps were 64-66.  Pretty windy too which didnt help.  Was able to pull in 5.  Missed another 4 or so, a little rusty on my hooksets and fishing in general :-/.  Should be able to fix that now that I got my boat back.  Biggest I estimated around 2 lbs, maybe a tad larger she was pretty fat.  Bleeding some so just got one quick pic and didnt bother with the scale.  Another about a pound and a half the other 3 were dinks.  Only thing I could get them to take was a wacky rigged watermelon worm.  I got the season launch pass again this year and Bull Run key so I'll be up there a decent amount this summer.  Sometimes I've got an open seat, I'd love to get together with some of yall and learn some new tricks.  Anybody been out to the Res lately?  I'm curious how others are doing.  I plan on heading out again tomorrow.  Heres a few pics from today

Hold on, let me get this straight.........You where fishing???

I take it your fishing up river? Contact Mattstrykul, I think he can be of some help (the kids good). From what I have gathered so far from my buddies is the jig has been king. Top water (buzzbait) was hot this past weekend. Check your PM's too.

i fish the tourneys out of occ. down river is the key right now. action has been extremely slow up river.

Thanks flippin4it.

Vabasser, it's always fun takin the girls out  ;D I took my gf out a month ago and she had a blast, she even caught a pound and a halfer on a shakey head.

I've been havin alot of luck on jigs (bigger fish). Shakey heads are producing but mostly smaller fish. C rig will be coming into play soon.

Haha well I was atleast attempting to fish some.  I went downlake yesterday because from what I was reading on here that sounded best.  Figured I'd try uplake today but now Im not so sure.  Matt I shot you a PM.  Hopefully I'll have some luck today, I'll fill you all in.

Oh to be young and single..............

went out today on the occ and landed over 20 fish best day i've had there in a while probably 8 or 9 keepers, most of the nice ones came in the morning all up river so don't think its slow up there anymore if it was.

how'd you catch them? i forget does it cost to launch at fountain head?

Yeah trev, it costs like 6 to launch your boat from a trailer, 4 from cartop (or something very close to that.)

u can buy a season pass too. this way you can launch at bull run and skip the commotion at fountain head.

yea its 5 bucks to launch from a trailer, i was catching them fishing relatively slow most of the good ones came off main lake points, caught a couple fishing faster with money minnow type swimbait sold at dicks reaction innovations maybe? forget who makes it. the fishings good now i was hoping to find some spawning as some are spawning on some of the local ponds i fish but its way too muddy to even attempt to site fish there.
