My buddies have been killing them out of Algonkian Park. They are catching them on the Case Jack's Worm in a color called Natural. Also catching them on what looks like a large beetle spin set up with a green pumpkin grub and the tail dipped in chrt dye.

Hey Rob, have your buds been getting anything of size? Ernie from Ashburn has been on the river quite a bit lately and getting mostly little dinks down here. He's gotten some better fish N of Point of Rocks.

I'm looking to do the river one morning next week.

They had mentioned a Aqua duct and that is where it all happened. Several over 2lbs. I'll ask more questions when I get home. The Jack's Worm by Case was the key.

thanks for the replies.

is there a 10 or 15 mile stretch that is canoe friendly (no major rapids) in the upper potomac? id be parking a car where we drop in and another where we take out.

thanks

You can take the Ferry across the river at White's Ferry and there's a put in there. It's about 11 miles down river to Algonkian Regional Park. It's a calm stretch of river and smallmouths throughout.
