Looking to hit up the river this wkend..  anyone have any good spots the family can go to?  -to enjoy a good day of fishing/family time/playing with kids etc??  (Not interested in driving tooo tooo far.. 1.5-2hrs is ok..  (I live near chantilly)

If no one takes you up on this, you can always come to the eastern shore with us and go camping/fishing.  It's at Kiptopeke state park where the concrete ships are.  Flounder.....   c'mon, I know you wanna.

Check the water levels. The North Fork near Timberville was high and muddy last night due to the recent rain. The USGS says most of the 'Doah watershed has elevated flow levels right now.

On a brighter note, a random townie from down here in Harrisonburg showed me a picture of a legitimate 9-10 lb largemouth caught out of the North Fork recently. I was about to call bull until he showed me the pic and he wasn't lying.
