Harris - Kissimee - Central Florida Fishing Report

anybody done anything on Kissimmee lately? Got a tourney comin up and would like to know any info. Not that I have a whole lot of choice where I fish since I am a non-boater, but a little help on what they are bitin on these days would be greatly appreciated.

it all depends on where your boater takes you.  what tournamen?  gator or everglades? you may find that your boater is chasing spawning fish.  there are limited waves of fish moving up if you get in the right areas.  you may find that your boater is moving around trying to fish pre-spawners (your best bet for fish).  then he'll be in 3-4ft of grass and bads, toads flukes worms in holes traps, etc. you may find that your boater is out working kicker trails.  the upside to this would be that they will catchy so many little fish they'll probably get tired of it, and let you pull a limit of small fish out.

if they go to cypress or hatch for pre-spawn youll should do well cause its open water traps and worms.

of course if a front rolls in, who knows?

I caught them last weekend on a crankbait outside of deep grass, on a frog in the morning, and pitching a fluke into the holes in the kissimmee grass during the day. Nothing big and nothing consistent. We had about 20 fish over the 3 days.  The most fun came from the ride a 7.5 lb cat fish gave me after inhaling my crankbait.
