Lake Hartwell

Featured Replies

Hey guys.   I need a little help if possible.  Ive got a tourney next weekend on Lake Hartwell and Ive never been on the lake.  Any help would be appreciated?   Im willing to try anything.  Thanks.

went sat (1/10) the water temp is 49.8-52.3. water is very muddy from portman marina north either direction water is stained south. There is very little surface action and most fish did seem to hold in the tops of trees in about 30-40'. spoon or jig. good luck.

went there a year ago and ran to the Seneca River area and fished between Eighteenmile creek and Coneross creek. I fished the smaller creeks and found plenty of brush piles! we used rattle traps and shakey head(red bug). you have to fish these brush piles for a while sometimes, but there is always fish in them. we pulled 15.05 lbs one day in one spot alone. PM me if you need more specifics.

It's going to be real cold. Could be single digits (less than 10 degrees  :o) in the morning. Best option would be to stay home. With the fast dropping water temps though the clearest water you can find deepwater and spoons would be the way to go.
