I want to get out and fish to relieve some of the stress from the end of school.  I have never fished for bass in NC and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.  I go to Elon and am hoping to find a place to fish from shore within a 20-30 minute drive.  Any suggestions would be great.  Also, what baits are working well this time of year?  Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the link.  I will check that website out.  After some more research online I think I might try one of the resevoirs in Burlington.  They have boats available to rent there which would be much better than fishing from shore.

If you can get near the Catawba chain, check out http://www.duke-energy.com/lakes/facts-and-maps.asp pick your lake and it will list out maps with all launching and access points on that particular lake.
