fishing in wv

Featured Replies

The wife and I are going to West Virginia in October.  Anyone know of a good place to bass fish?  Id like to take my bass boat and know a lot of the lakes dont allow big motors. If anyone knows of somewhere let me know.

Thanks,

Its open to where we go.We just want to do some fishing in a good Lake in WV my boat was a V6 Merc boat is a21ft Allison

Not many "Great" lakes down here, but if your in the area. Stonewall, Summersville (after the water has dropped), Bluestone, East Lynn, Burnsville, Woodrum (10hp max), all offer descent autumn fishing.

You could load that Allison in the Kanawha River and open it up, but the fishing is pretty much a dink fest.

There are three watersheds in Jackson County, Charleston closer to Ripley, that have great bass.

O'brien, Elk Fork, and Woodrum all have great bass fishing.  10HP limits on all three though I think.

Stonewall is a good one though, although I haven't fished it in years.
