any tips/suggestions for the Potomac???

Featured Replies

What's going on? I'm heading out this afternoon for the first time in a couple weeks. Any tips or suggestions for this turn over period??? Thanks.

Last time I was out there was Sept 15.  Fished Aquia Creek and was only able to find them in the back of the creek on wood structure.  Ended up catching 7, caught on t-rigged plastic worm and spinnerbait, none of them over two pounds.  I was not able to locate any fish in the middle of the creek in places along the grassline where I usually catch them during the spring and summer months.  Seems that action has slowed down in Aquia since the nights have started getting cooler, also it hasn't rained a whole lot, so I don't know if salt water is moving in or not. good luck

I'll be fishing the potomac today also, are you going out via boat? I've been catching them in little hunting creek along the weed beds on t-rigged lizards real slowly with the current, and spinnerbairs in the evening. Caught over 40 in the past 2 days, if you want we can meet up and fish together, I've been looking for a partner to go out with today

Also the stiper are hitting at the mouth of the creeks in the evenings really good, nothing over 10lbs but still fun

We got all our hits 3 days ago on spinner baits for the most part. Chartreuse and white - even at night oddly enough.

-Note: This is around Dogue Creek
