I use to fish the bridges growing up in my old mans boat. I have been gone for 10 years since highschool and now am back. I have a small raft and i am wondering where i could drop a little raft in without worrying too much about the tide. I don't care about smallmouth as much. Just big bass. This will require some expertise on yalls part, so please feel free to teach me what is manageable. Oh, i went fishing at Beaverdam Creek Reservoir the other day and i worked so hard just to catch two bass. Its a shame. I feel like the reservoir has changed since i left ten years ago.

Where would you be "dropping" this boat in at as the potomac is a rather large body of water and depending on locality I might have some spots for you.

wherever has the biggest bass! And is not unsafe for a raft. With a bass boat, this is not even an issue and i could find something, however, with a raft, its just dangerous and a whole new ball game

you're going to be limited to creeks.  

One that I would recommend would be Mattawoman creek on the MD side. Look up Slavin's boat ramp. You can launch back there very easily and it is very sheltered from the wind.

Mattawoman and little hunting creek are your best bets, also if you get on Ft. Belvoir you can slide  your boat down into pohick bay down by the archery range and catch very decent sized bass down on the flats

I also recommend using Google maps to look up creeks and launch sites.

Little hunting creek should be a nice area,  but I think hunting creek a bit farther north just outside old town alexandria would be best for a canoe, also there are some spots you could hit around bell havin marina.
