  1. Id avoid the berkley, I have one that reads different every time I turn it on. First time I weighted a fish, which I knew was over five it read 4.6, I took it home put a 5lb plate on the end it read 4.4 So I took off the plate and turned off the scale, and turned it back on put the plate on again and it was 4.6. I kept trying different weights, and not once was it off by a consistent amount. I might try putting some new batteries in it and see if that helps.
  2. Thats not a deps, its an optimum furbit, I haven't used the regular but do fish the pop'n furbits. Back to the question at hand, for frogs (hollow body) ill fish them till thanksgiving, toads (soft plasics) Ill fish till almost december if the waters warm enough
  3. I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure that you cannot use trout that you've caught. However you can buy trout and use them as long as; you have a bill of sale (which must include date and number of trout) and don't fish in stocked trout waters.
  4. They have sarcasm on the internet?
  5. Wait what, did I read that right, you were using a 3inch senko? Wouldnt that make you a "dancer" shimmy
  6. Ya I looked at some areial pics before I went out there. I'll go back there at some point when I decide to launch out of Aquia, it took me 30 bux in gas just to get there and back from leesylvania which seems like a waste to me. Here's a pic of my first snakehead which I caught yesterday in mattawoman Out of hope springs? Isn't like 20$ to launch out there, or is there another ramp in aqua.
  7. Congrats on the first one, im sure it wont be the last. I also got my first of the year the other day it was a dink, but still managed to destoy my fav spinnerbait. Dan do you have any more info on that monster you posted? I'd sure like to know the weight on that beast.
  8. Ive fished there once or twice, never caught a thing, but the bottom, if you haven't already you might want to take a look at google maps, you can get a pretty good view of the wrecks
  9. d**n I knew there were some bigs ones out there but that thing is a monster.
  10. I just started this weekend as well, no bites yet.
  11. me and a buddy fished for like 12 hours yesterday, the morning bite was pretty good but it died in the afternoon
  12. Ive been finding slightly bigger fish back in the creek, but I dont fish out of a boat, so they might be stackin up out there by Mt vernon.
  13. Ive been tearin up the 2lbish cookie cutter males, pretty much every where ive been (mainly in lhc) Finding them big fat females has been a little tricky, I was donin a lot better befor we got this little cool spell.
  14. I can help you figure out 4mr, just pm me sometime when you think your gonna head down there. But right now you really cant go wrong fishing the main river with a spinnerbait.
  15. Sounds like it, but thank you, after the first post about these things i was really thinking about getting one or two.
  16. No problem, I have two that I thought were some type of cc spots forever
  17. yes they did make some that dont have diamonds on them I think they were called premier (or pro) diamond shads
  18. The water there is just too shallow and and the deeper parts by the bridge are too fast moving for the bass in the cold. I'm sure they dont want to be constantly swimming against current and expending energy. If you still have my number hit me up next time you go out I'll come out too Yep, you can try by the bridge but I think you'll have best luck moving out as far from the bridge as possible, or corss the parkway and get back into the creek, again try to get as far from the bridge as possible, but they should start to stack up soon.
  19. war eagle front runner? I think I have some lying in my basement
  20. Ive only had 3 encounters 2 went fine, and the gw's were professional. The one time they got me up set, I was fishing and had caught a striper, and for whatever reason decided to keep it. It was the first day of striper season, so they ask me if i know when the season started and what the legal lenght is, to which I replied didnt it start last week and isnt 18inches the limit. Well I guess they didn't like that I was a little off, and gave me some attitude, telling me it was the first day of the season, I was right about the lenght they asked if i had a measuring tape, I didnt but knew the fish was good to keep. Well turns out they didnt have one either, so one hands me his leathermen, which had a 3inch ruler on the outside. I put it to the fish and it was easily 6 times almost 7, meaning the fish was at least 18inches. Well that wasn't good enough they wrote me a ticket and took the fish. I was cursing my self for about half an hour, when the nicer of the two gw returned with my fish and said we measured it at the truck and it was 18inches, it was 20.
  21. I have some, they look great, but I haven't fished em much and have yet to get a bite on one. Which size did you get?
  22. Many strange events have been captured on video, heck theres at least 3 or 4 tv shows about ghosts, most aren't very good but occasionally they'll get a few seconds of video of something odd. I too can shoot a video of something odd, add sensational commentary, play Halloween music in the background, and claim the strange thing is the result of paranormal activity. If there were legitimate footage out there, we would probably all know about it. You would think so but who would believe it ;D
  23. Yes it is, I haven't tried the yellow magic but ricos are far superior to zell pops or skitter pops or pop'rs. Lights out a michael is a popper very similar to a rico, I feel like there somehow linked but cant remeber, maybe the michael was the predecessor to the rico or something like that.
