Lucky Craft LVR D-7 hook recommendations

Featured Replies

I just bought a 1/2 oz Lucky Craft LVR D-7 in red craw colors and i've been told that it's a smart idea to change out the factory hooks. Any recommendations on what hooks i should put on it?

the exculber Tx3 are my favorite hooks  they are spiraled and i rarely lose fish with them

There is no need to change out the hooks on Lucky Crafts. They are razor sharp right out of the package.

I believe you are thinking of people just referring to lipless cranks and the need to change the hooks, however I surely would not change the hooks out on any Lucky Craft out of the package, as I don't think that even a Gammie hook is any sharper.

If you find a better/sharper hook than those that come on a Lucky Craft, please let me know so I can stock up.

The hooks they use are made by VMC, and chemically sharpened by Daiichi Japan.

I'm with dude, you should keep the factory hooks. If you spent the $20 on the lure, it had better have some d**n good trebles on there already. If you insist on the changing them out, I like the Xcalibur VMC 4x trebles in tin red.

Just for the record... based on opinion, I'd say that Xcalibur beats Lucky Craft any day for half the price.

You know! ;D
