winter time fishing

Featured Replies

Well its getting close to the end of December and with the alabama weather being as wild as it is I am going to start my bass fishing this year even earlier than i typically do, probably the day of christmas, because i know that some of the lakes i have been fishing in past years have much larger fish than are being produced. any tips on fishing this time of year both live bait and artificial? i believe the main forage to be bream only, but caught majority of fish on lizards...also the water is clearrr. now my instict tells me to slow roll diff types of spinnerbaits and im going to be taking some storm swimbaits as well so far?

try lipless crankbaits like a ratl trap or something slow down and size down you can try a shakey head with a 4 inch finesse worm. a spinnerbait should work fine as well. you will just have to see what the fish are biting. ive had some luck on a jig down on some of the alabama lakes. a jerk bait might be pretty good to i caught a lot of fish on a jerkbait on logan mart back in late november.
