I had a few fish that I caught on a buzzbait but they were all small fish. Seems like the big females are still out deep except for the one 6 pounder i caught. she was full of eggs but other than that i couldnt buy a big bite. Those fish on kentucky lake confused me I couldnt figure out if they had spawned out or not. This sure has been a weird spring so far.

I fished Kentucky lake all day Monday and Tuesday. I fished mostly around the birdsong and new johnsonville area. I had one good fish out of the two days that weighed about 6. I caught it in a foot and a half of water on a jig flippin in the pads that are coming up. There are a lot of little fish shallow but I couldnt find any other big ones. Catching most of the fish on a jig shakey head and a spinner bait.

you cant beat jacking the jaw of a nice largemouth my favorite is definitely a flippin hookset its the greatest feeling in the world.

i have been flipping and pitching with a left handed reel since i learned how to fish. thats how my dad was so thats how he taught me now on all my other casting rods i use right handed reels. for some reason i feel more comfortable with a left handed reel when im flippin you never have to swap hands for no reason and it is very convenient for me i will never change

my dad has a 20 foot vcat with a 150 on it and to be an aluminum boat it fishes great. seaark makes smaller boats for the coast gaurd so you know they are quality aluminum and they have great welds. i had a tracker before and the seaark blows it out of the water

they do seem a little week i was fishing a tournament a few weeks ago and i picked one of the baby king shads up after the first day of the tournament at bps and i was going to use it on day two. well i caught a nice 3 pounder on it and lost one about that size then i went to cast it up under a dock and the bait barely clipped the corner post of the dock and broke it in half i spent 15 dollars on that thing and only got to use it 2 hours > but over all its a great looking bait and has caught fish for me i would suggest getting a few for your tacklebox

ive used sloans spinnerbaits and booyah for the most part but recently i bought my first war eagle and it is the best running spinnerbait i have ever used straight out of the package. they run so true and look great in the water.

ill be fishing kentucky lake this weekend for a collegiate tournament fished a tournament there last weekend and didnt do much good hopefully this warm weather will really turn on the bite.

thats not what i like to hear but atleast it will give me a challenge. ill be honest this winter has killed me its been so brutal

naw we are only sending one boat to the big O so im going to fish murray states tournament on kentucky lake. first is guaranteed 2000 dollars so i figured it was worth a shot. i just wish i couldve had time to go and practice fish.

has anybody fished kentucky lake recently? im going there this weekend to fish in a college tournament and i havent had a chance to prefish. anybody got any suggestions to get me going in the right direction?
