Meeting Set for Decline in Largemouth Bass Fishing at Kerr Lake

Featured Replies

A meeting has been scheduled for January 29, 2010 7:30pm at the Best Western in Clarksville. This meeting is for any and all concerned about the decline in the large mouth bass fishing at Kerr lake. This is your chance to voice your concerns about it site examples about the decline and sign a petition to support researching and solving the problem. THIS IS NOT A GRIPE FINGER POINTING SESSION. We are also going to elect 6 people to represent us and meet with represenitives from the VDGIF U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and the North Carolina Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries. If you care about restoring the bass fishing in Kerr Lake as much as I do then show your support and come to the meeting. It will be video taped to show the people that can help us find out what the problem is then the solution. I have read a lot of these post and we can hypothosize all we want about what the cause is. The fact is we need the experts who are educated in this to help us out. I look forward to seeing a great turnout and again please come and support this effort if you want to see this lake return to the Buggs Island we used to know. Thanks-Tim Wilson MERRY CHRISTMAS! AND A HAPPY AND PRODUCTIVE NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

If you attend, how about limiting the number of tournaments in a year plus restocking the lake?

Just a suggestion.

Happy New Year.  :)

Hey Wayne P.,

This started on the Kerr site back in Nov. Would you visit the site and read the post.  I would like to hear your input on this.

I do believe this meeting will lead to a group forming like they have for the Chickahominey.

I didn't know we had a problem on Kerr either. I fished it about fifteen times this year and managed some nice fish. I have also got beat in some tournaments by guy's that had a 5 fish limit that weighed 20 and 25lb.

But I will go to the site you suggested and do some reading.

Thanks Wayne,

We share some of the same ideas about the weather.  I will pass along your ideas and hope you will attend and add your knowledge to the group.

               Thanks
