Place to Stay at Guntersville Lake?

Featured Replies

I told the wife she needed to take a few days off and relax.  You know, somewhere without the hustle and bustle of large cities, maybe on a lake somewhere.  she of course agreed to this fine idea and I had a lake in mind.  Guntersville.  On the weekend of March 20,21st.

Sooooo, anybody know of a good place on the water, like a cabin or something?  I need a place that will allow us to bring our two smallish dogs.  I'd like to spend around a 100 bucks a night.

Guntersville state park has a great hotel or you can stay in one of their cabins. It was just recently renovated and has a good restaurant. Oh, and an awesome view of the lake.

You're probably more than a little late to the party.  Things get very full at this time of year.  I think there is a BFL that weekend as well.

Cabins are few and far between down here, esp at that price.

A hotel is probably your only option.

Do not stay at Woody's cabins! The place is a . hole.

I talked to a buddy who stayed at Woodys lodge. Its not the fanciest but its ok for guys who are there to fish. Its not the nicest but its cheap and its not that bad he told me. He said it wasnt the nicest place but for the price on that lake it was OK.

The Big Bass Splash is on those dates. You might not be able to find anything. The place will be packed.

Yeah I would reschedule if possible. I was there once when the big bass splash was there. Its fun if your fishing it but if not its brutal. All the boat ramps will be packed mid lake. Boats will be everywhere and I mean everywhere. It will be the worst weekend of the year. If you cant reschedule I would either go to the Dam or fish up lake at Mud creek. If you go to Mud creek you can stay in the little town north of Mud creek really cheap.
