Anybody know if the water is muddy from the rain ?

Have not seen the lake but from past experience and viewing the Historic James River which feeds the Appomattox River which feeds Lake Chesdin, the water should be cold and dirty.

Like chocolate milk.

Probably in the high 40s, around 46 or 47 degrees.

I suggest giving the lake at least one week to try to clear up unless we get more rain up river, like on Sunday of this week, March 21.

If you do go, please give us a report on the water clarity and temperature.  Thanks.  :)

The James doesnt feed chesdin or the appomatoax, the appomatoax feeds into and out of the lake then flows into the james further down.

A white spinnerbait couldn't be seen past 2' sunday if that helps any.

OOps!

Yes, I was wrong. Don't know what I was thinking.

Water from the Appomattox comes down from Farmville into the Swamp and then the lake and over the dam towards the James River.  :)

I attempted to fish sunday like an idiot.  Stayed untill about 2pm no luck. THe water was pretty muddy up towards the upper end.
