PS...Lee and Salm...will fill you in soon...nothing great to report...yet.

Tim,

If you're getting shiners then your one of the lucky ones. most bait shops from Orlando to Sanford haven't had big shiners for weeks. I'd say you're best bet is to catch them yourself. (now that! can be an adventure all by itself)

Keep us posted.

Just catch your own. I used to do this all time when I wasn't so busy. I would go out on Thursday and fill a One Gallon ziploc bag with Hog Feed and punch a bunch of holes in it and tie some line to the bag and then to something close by and I would sink the bag and give it some shakes to get all the feed soaked. Then throw out about 5 hand fulls of feed all around. Go home and come back in 24hrs throw a couple of hand fulls of feed and wait about 5 minutes and then proceed to throw your net and catch shiners. Toss the small ones back.

thanks Lee. I bought them there twice this week and they were medium domestic...was looking for the large size. I didn't realize that there was a shortage in the area. we are probably going to do some shore fishing, even if it's with shiners near big toho, unless we can find a small lake or pond relatively close.
