  1. At some point the GSX reels were switched from pfleuger to quantum. They may have gone back to pflueger.

I recommend two pieces of software. Classic Shell and Skip Metro Suite. Check this out, should help you a lot. http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/software-and-web-apps/how-to-make-windows-8-look-like-windows-7-50009546/
  3. Heading down to Mullet Lake Park on SR46 this Saturday. Any advice on that area lately. Any bass spawning yet? Should we focus on schoolers?
  4. If you want a good phone with a big screen take the phone you have back and get the Samsung Galaxy S3. You won't be disappointed.
  5. I immediately recognized him as Willie Mays when I saw the picture.
  6. I searched for bass2bucks but didn't find the username listed. We have done well in the lake previously but it's been a while since I have been out on the river/lake and I'm not sure where we should focus to have the best day.
  7. Heading out to Lake Monroe this Saturday. We are launching at the public ramp on the west side of Lake Monroe. I'm not sure if we should be fishing the lake or the river this time of year. Any help is appreciated.
  8. Thanks for the help guys. We caught 4 fish and missed one. Caught one and missed one in the pads by the canal to Lake Harris. We caught the other three flipping canals in Lake Eustis.
  9. Thanks for all the help guys. Hopefully I can catch some fish tomorrow.
  10. I am fishing the Harris Chain of Lake this weekend. We are launching at Buzzard Beach. Does anyone have any info for these lake for this time of year. I have never fished the Harris Chain and really know nothing about it. Any recent fishing reports?
  11. Is there any reason to buy a Marine Starting battery instead of a cheap automotive starting battery?
  12. The starting battery in my boat has gone bad. It is 5 years old and no longer holds a charge. I am severely short on funds right now and can't afford the $65 for a new Marine Starting Battery. Can I use an automotive starting battery for one or two fishing trips?
  13. On the 165 even if the live was divided, I can't image keeping a 5 bass limit in 7.5 gallons of water, no matter the size of the fish. I think 15 gallons is kind of small for a 5 bass limit.
  14. Is your whole house system set on the main incoming line? I got struck by lightning a year ago and the strike hit a large oak in our yard then traveled into my aluminum shed then through an extension cord the went from the shed to the back porch and then proceeded to fry lots of electronics in the house. One of the whole house units offered by the power company would have done nothing to stop my surge.
  15. Sounds like the reel needs to be shimmed up. I have to do this on a few of my rods. I usually take some think cardboard like from a cereal box and cut to the right lenght and 2x the width of the reel seat so it can be folded in half. I then place the cardboard on the rod and then place the reel on top of that and tighten it down. This should work for you.
  16. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
  17. Sounds like you have a power wire issue not an issue with the HDS 5.
  18. You should just keep the smaller battery hooked to the gas engine to start it and use the big battery hooked to the trolling motor. The on board charger is used for easily charging your batteries when you get back from a trip. The on board charger has wires that you wire to your battery so when you need to charge them you would usually just have to plug the male end of the battery charger into the female end of an extension cord.
  19. I went from Anarchy Kronos to Calcutta Steelhead glasses. I had my Anarchy's for probably 5 or more years before I decided to replace them. I really like my Calcutta sunglasses. I believe they are all polarized and are of a pretty good quality. They are basically Costa copies. http://www.calcuttafishingstore.com/store/categories/sunglasses.htm
  20. You can find a few other threads about the ficht motors if you do a search. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/24836-i-need-a-brief-ficht-ram-education/page__p__251237__hl__+ficht#entry251237
  21. Instead of removing all the line from your reels it would be quicker and easier to remove the spools from the reels instead of having to respool when you get to alaska.
  22. I have been having problems recently with breakage issues when setting the hook while using braid. Maybe the knot is slipping through the bend, maybe my knots are bad (not getting curly cue line after breaking), or maybe my hooksets are too strong. I believe the braid I am using is 40lb Tuff Line XP. BPS Nitro Reel with 7'6" Telescoping Field and Stream Tec Spec. I admit my hooksets are hard and fast and the until I got this rod about a year ago I never truly had a flipping rod before. I want to try some superline hooks but I'm not sure what is the best to get. I am looking for a 5/0 hook EWG wide gap hook. If anyone thinks this may be a knot issue recommend a better knot. I currently use a an improved cinch knot for most of my knots.
  23. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe it just isn't working for me. I was trying to search for braid hook and it came up with no results. i then tried to search for hook and came up with no results. Is the search function not working or am I doing something wrong.
  24. This is the one I've been looking at. Garmin nüvi 40LM 4.3-inch Portable GPS Navigator (US) We had a garmin nuvi before it got stolen and it worked well. The only advice I can give is to get one with free map updates.
  25. For all you guys who are scared of alligators. http://www.clickorlando.com/news/Video-shows-gator-attacking-fisherman-in-kayak/-/1637132/12774450/-/10gmups/-/index.html
