West Lake Toho

Featured Replies

I'm planning to fish there later this week. I was just wondering if anyone has been there lately and if you have what part of the lake were you fishing and what was working?

Thanks, Nick

I usually put the boat in at the Whaley's Landing boat ramp. From there I run over to Friar's cove. When I haven't been there in a while, but when I did go there I used black 10 inch worms, blue and silver rattle traps and carolina rigs and always did good. I just haven't been there since the weather has gone out of wack.

Try just to the south of Brown's Point, near two mounds (actually right between the two) created during a drawdown. Lots of fish in there right now (last two weekends anyway). Move in and out depth wise till you find them. Was catching them mostly on super flukes in watermelon red with a 1/32 oz. weigthed hook. 3-4 foot of water was about right last weekend.

Also might want to flip the pads in the same area. If you get into the green gorilla snot under the surface, move till you get away from it.
