Planning to go back there for 2nd time.  First time kicked my butt.  Only one fish.  I'll be fishing for smallies and just wondering if someone can give me some pointers on line size, baits/lures, techniques, etc.  Anything helps. 

Also, I've heard rumors that trout, pike and musky are in those waters.  Is that really true?

ive never fished there, but this forum has an excellent section for smallmouth fishing you should look at

fished there yesterday and on good friday caught seven on good friday and six yesterday.  On the catawba side is where i was having the best luck with spinnerbaits in the brush and along secondary points, but on the linville side is better for smallmouth and yes its true there is muskey and walleye and trout so good luck and hope you lay em out
