Anybody down in South FLA fishing tomorrow?

I'll be doing some fishing tomorrow morning for a few hours if the weather is halfway decent if anybody wants to meet up.  Only have till about 12 or 1 in the afternoon before I pick up the kids from school.  I may hit up one of the parks and do some bank fishing if anybody wants to head out somewhere.  Let me know if you're at all interested.

i was planning on it but this wind is killing it.

Agreed.  I gave up on it today.  I'm trying again tomorrow.

I caught a couple 1-2# bass off a 3" Live Kickin Shad by Storm but the wind was just too darn miserable to continue.

Headed out to Big O in about 6 hours, hope wind kicks it down a couple of notches.

Fished out of Indian Prairie canal this A.M. from about 7 to 11, and bite was on.  Ran south down cuts and fished first major opening and most bass seemed to be holding in the eel grass areas. Top-water frog bite was so-so, but flukes and dippers were consistent catchers in June bug color or watermelon.  Most fish were buck but landed about 4 over 2 1/2 with a 5.3 kicker, going to be busy this weekend with all the BFL tournament anglers.

I had a decent hour or two out this afternoon after the rains rolled through.  Had a solid peacock bite happening.  XCalibur Jerkbait.  Forgot the name of the color, but it resembles a golden shiner.  Picked up six of them up to about two pounds and some change.  No Largemouth hit that thing.  Did pick up a couple of decent largemouth on a watermelon w/black flake swimming senko though.

God knows I want to wake up early to try and catch that early bite, but I don't know about that.  It's already after 1 am....

Really happy to hear about the Peacock bite man. I haven't even seen one since that cold came through. I been meaning to try out this park again between Miramar and Pembroke Rd. on 178th where I've caught a fair share of 3-4# Peacocks from but you can't park there without the  harassing and have to park near the baseball fields near Silver Lakes Elementary and then a not very pleasant walk if your carrying a big tackle box and more than one rod.

If thats the park I'm thinking of, I may be heading over there in a little while with the kids and my father.  I think it's called Island park or something like that.

I've gotta stop making runs to BPS.  I'm WAY over my budget that I wanted to spend this year.  Four new rods, two new reels, silly amounts of tackle, boat, etc etc....

What I really want to get going is some nasty topwater peacock bites.  Hopefully tomorrow morning...

I was out at Wolf Lake in Davie yesterday and didnt have any luck at all! I did see a small school of peacocks (5-7 fish) which was nice.

I've caught some 1-2 pounders in the pond behind my house the past two weeks. Using a Zoom 6" purple lizzard and Berkley Chiggar Craw. Just a matter of time before the big ones start biting. There are too many young ones for them to eat.

went back out to tree tops today. fished in a light sprinkle off the dock and managed a few 1 pounders off a bomber 4a? and a trick stick.

walked around to the other side and hooked into that monster LM. she took a fluke jr t-rigged weightless i was twitching on a 6'6" light/fast spinning rig. man , was that a fight! there were a ton of kids there with their parents , so they ran over to check it out. they all looked super excited to see a big fish come out of the water  ;D.

By the way, I hate rain.  I don't mind fishing in it, but I haven't installed the bilge pump into my Jon, so yeah...

Got a brief moment of clear skies long enough to go out and catch a couple of fish on a dropshot in about 25' of water.  One of them was ridiculously fat though.  Good to see some very healthy fish in the lake.

Hopefully I'm heading out for a few hours in the morning to a sweet looking lake out in Silver Lakes that I found that has a launch ramp for electric only boats.  Any of you guys have any recommendations on what you would throw after all of the rain and wind we've had the last couple of days?

Which lake you thinking about in Silver Lakes? I can't wait to cast this 3.5" Tennessee Shad color Yum Money Minnow I got at BPS on Sunday. Looks like a killer!

Theres a Boaters Park off of 178th and 9th.  Big lake.  Lots of trees and stumps that are poking out of the water.  Some nice large flats off the bank before the drop offs.  When I was there looking around on Sunday I spotted a decent Gar, and about a 20 pound Carp of some kind.  So I guess I'll see what happens.

I think I know where your talking about and if so been fishing around many different areas of the lake from land since I don't own a boat unfortunately. Before the cold snap the peacocks were on fire there and I imagine with such a huge body of water they will make a comeback sooner than later. I have also seen some pretty nice size largemouth there aswell. There is a little bridge which actually is 178th where you can get to the east part of the lake I believe and there is a lot of lily pads there that I often dreamed of fishing. d**n I need to get a boat. lol!

Thats the main area that I'm concentration on tomorrow. I'll fish the entire side on the bottom of the picture that runs along 9th. work the banks up to and around that little island. Hopefully I'll find some boulders or something on the electronics in the area as well. The hardest part I'm having is deciding what to bring. I've got no clue what the depth or anything is in this lake.

Let me know a day that you're available and we can try to get together around here with the boat. Just be ready to help haul it out the back of the truck :D. I use it primarily in my lake so I don't have any use for a trailer. This is the first time I'm taking it out in a lake other than my own.  I'm bringing a spare battery just to be on the safe side.

Hey Pinesangler, theres a bridge on that lake right on 178th that could well be a gold mine.  There we fish stacked up there earlier today.  Tons of boulders and all were used to build up the road there.  Nice little patch of grass on the outside of the cut under the bridge.  Pulled in seven or eight fish off that spot in about half an hour before I had to call it a day.  Most of them were in the 2 to 3 pound range.  We saw several larger fish that weren't at all interested in what we had to offer.  My father was using a 5" pearl with gold and black flake senko, and I had a swimmin senko in watermelon with the tail dipped in chart JJ's.  Great success with both.  Drop shot with a minnow shaped lure had some success also.

went out earlier this afternoon to a lake in my area (south miami). there was a very light breeze and man was it hot. the temp that is , not the fishing. i had one on a crank that came unbuttoned close to shore. there were a few LMs swimming around and a decent sized lone peacock hangin around next to a storm drain pipe. none of them didnt want what i had so i left skunked.

not sure if the pea's are like this everywhere , but i havnt cought one this year. last year , i was hoping to catch a LM everytime i went out because it seemed the peas took over whatever water i was fishing. now it seems like their gone. how is everyone else doing with them?

I've still seen and caught them recently in my lake system.  The lake I was on today had none at all that I saw.  Very healthy LM population though.  There were fingerlings everywhere.  Makes you wonder how much the Peacocks really damage the LM populations in certain lakes.

I actually went over there this morning after dropping off the little ones at there school (Silver Lakes Elementary) and man the water is really a lot higher than usual from all that rain. Didn't see anything promising so I moved on to another place. Wish I had seen this post earlier in the day because I could've helped ya get that boat in the water. Got family coming tomorrow and staying until Sunday so probably be tied up until next week unfortunately but thanks for the invite. Glad you got into them today I actually caught a 3.5# bass and a couple smaller ones today myself even though I only had only an hour to fish but I now know my Yum Money Minnow is a killer though.
