Anyone been fishing on the Lower James in VA lately?  Goin home from college soon to do a little fishin over a long weekend and was wondering if anyone is catching good numbers of bass or crappie.  Thanks.

Fish the jetties and any wood and grass you see.

Hit the Appomattox if possible.

Back of Herring Creek may be good.

Where are you planning to launch?

With the cold front moving through it may have a detrimental affect on the fish but give it shot, anyway. 

Usually i launch out of Osborne or Deep Bottom.  I will probably try up in the barge pit and old river channel for some bass and I know of a crappie hole that always produces.  I usually don't go that far down the river but I might try it when I go.  Right now, it looks like I will be comin home the first weekend in october so I am sure the water temp. will be dropping some.
