I am currently attending Virginia Tech and will be coming home for the weekend.  I am just wondering what i should try and what type of structure or cover i need to try for the weather currently at lake anna.  havnt been down there for a month or 2 so idk whats up with the lake.

I was there last night at the meeting.  Anyway, right now the water is starting to cool down (on the cold side atleast) and the bass are starting to push up a little shallower chasing bait just like the stripers do.  I would recommend searching around the middle to lower end of the lake looking for schools of bait or fish breaking on the surface (especially on secondary points).  Throw flukes or shad imatating lures at the schools of fish.  Some fish are still positioned on drop offs so if the current is running, cranking the drop offs or points could work well too.

The lower end of the lake is where the dam is. Lower as in lower elevation and water runs down hill.

Yeah, wayne is right.  The lower end is where the dam is and at the very end of the lake on the right side if you are facing the dam is where the "warm" water comes out of the hot side.  The lower end has a lot of big creeks leading in.  Once you get up past the route 208 bridge a little ways is where the lake splits into the two rivers that feed it.  Up there is usually better fishing during the hot summer months.

Sorry Carrington, but we fish the hot side now until next March or April.

I do have a club tournament on One Fish Anna in October but I have not studied the techniques or baits as of this date.

i would rather not discuss the horrible calls that caused us hokies to lose to some dumb broncos.  we should have won.  but other then that we are amazing atm.

Carr....Boise State is loaded with seniors.

When this class graduates Boise will be back in the toilet with too many underclassmen.

This is Boise's year. If they dont' do it this year it will be forever before they get back to such a high plateau.
