fished my club tourny today and struggled. went to cochrans and quickly put 5 fish in the boat. big fish was 3 pounds and the rest were dinks. struggled to upgrade all morning and to top it off my partners optima batteries were dead by noon. no trolling motor. decided to go to uncle joes and drift. ended up culling our dinks with a couple of 2-3 pounders. at 2:40 my partner bangs a 4.5 and we split to go weigh in. ended up with 14.93 and won. couldn't believe it. i thought we had no chance.

flukes in uncle joes were crushing them. it was super windy this morning and we had waves coming over the bow. traps were getting dinks at cochrans.

the water is getting lower, but still runable. a guy in my club chipped and bent his skeg going into coots bay.

big fish of the tourney was 8.2 pounds. unfortunately for him, that was his only fish.

Sheesh...I'll bet Uncle Joes was choppy with the E wind today.

Nice job tough pulling out the win in tough conditions. 15lbs is no joke, especially with no trolling motor.

thanks sal. that looks like a great investment and i will certainly pass the info along. when he bought his lake and bay, he bought it from a guy who fished the redfish tour and those optimas are the 1200's? i think he said he needs to upgrade to the 1500's(?). i guess the batteries he has now are not made to go through heavy grass all day long. at $300 a pop, i'l stick to my wet batteries.

Nice report.
