LAPR Tournaments in central VA

Featured Replies

Is any one fishing any of the LAPR tournaments in central VA this year? If you have fished them in pervious years, I would like to know how it went.

What are the LAPR tournaments? Link to information?

I have fished several LAPR events out of the Potomac River. What would you like to know?

I am fishing the James river series which is new for this year. I thought about catching a few of the Potomac series tournaments, but not sure yet. I am new to tidal water fishing so I may just concentrate on one river for now. I moved down here from upstate NY not a whole lot of tidal water to deal with. How many boats on average attend the Potomac tournaments and is there usually more than one flight? I hear it is a well ran organization.

Best circuit in VA hands down

Generally 45-60 boats.  One flight.   I don't want to discourage you or anything, but I woud suggest learning the river for a year or two before throwing down $160/tournament to fish LAPR.  Many of the best anglers on the Potomac fish this series so if you're not consistently on fish, you're just donating.  If money is no object, come on up!

X2 on wasting your money. I feel like I know the potomac very well and I refuse to fish but one or two LAPR events a year, I end up losing my rearend most of the time. These guys are GOOD to say the least

X3 on wasting your money.  There are some real good sticks in these events.  Even if you look at the weigh-in results and see that several guys zereod, realize that they probably had a limit that they knew wouldn't win so they bailed without weighing.
