  1. I am fishing the James river series which is new for this year. I thought about catching a few of the Potomac series tournaments, but not sure yet. I am new to tidal water fishing so I may just concentrate on one river for now. I moved down here from upstate NY not a whole lot of tidal water to deal with. How many boats on average attend the Potomac tournaments and is there usually more than one flight? I hear it is a well ran organization.
  2. When using trebel hooks its important to use a rod with some give to it. Its not so much that the line stretch is that much different, but a stiff rod can pull out trebel hooks.
  3. You will be fine as long as you use the proper rod.
  4. The Cavitron buzz bait is one of the best on the market however adding a stinger hook never hurts. One short strike equals one lost fish which can cost you a tournament.
  5. Flouro is great when you want to get a little more depth out of your jerk baits. When I use flouro for any treble hook bait I make sure that my rod has some give to it, this will prevent the hooks from tearing out.

Has anyone used the new Keitech Swing Fat Impact swim bait? I was think about purchasing it but at $8 a pack I would like to know how they work. I heard great things about them but I also heard they tear up really easy.
  7. search LAPR tournaments.

  9. Is any one fishing any of the LAPR tournaments in central VA this year? If you have fished them in pervious years, I would like to know how it went.
