Lake Ruritan In Fluvanna

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I hope im posting this in the right place, I did a search and could not find anything on this subject. Has anyone here fished lake Ruritan in Fluvanna here in central va? Thats the first place I want to hit up once the weather gets warm and stays warm. I have only fished this lake twice first time was about 20 years ago and last fall. The fisrt time I fished there I hooked into a huge muskie but lost him trying to bring him in, then last year no luck at all.

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck there? Im going to be fishing from the bank mainly until I get a jon boat.

fished there my whole life.  i mainly fish in the summer to early fall.  gonna try and get out this spring.

but to answer your question, yes i have luck there in the summer to early fall.  lots of blue gill, bass, and cats.  i know this is a bass fishing site but i love the cats there. they stock them annually and i just love to catch them.  the biggest one i got last year was around 6 to 8 pounds.  so if youre out there in the summer please dont keep a lot of them, because i love to catch em. :)

It produces several 9-10# bass during the Winter. A 10# was caught there last week.

There was a tournament on the lake this past weekend posted on another web site.
