I am thinking about heading up to Clewiston on Sunday.

Sure wish I was fishing.  :P

Naturally fishing has been reportedly great all over the place.  I've been going non-stop at work for the last month and a half.  Hope you make it out there and stick some giants.

Maybe sometime next week.  Good luck and give us a report back

Prepping for KOTG this weekend

Hey Sal,

The fishing at the big lake is just too good right now. Besides, pre-fishing has not helped me at all on the kotg.

I am going to change up my routine and not pre-fish and see how I do. I have my spots from fishing there for years.

Eric, even I can catch a slab at the O right now..

South Fla, my camera is fixed, hopefully I will have something worthy to shoot.

I know you are right about the Lake and I have been up there a lot and will be week after next up  for 4 days. I've been so around fish but not on them there. Case in point, last Friday I run to a spot and on my tenth cast I practically choke an 8 with a Big EZ and a few minutes later shake off a 5, so I get the heck out of there. Run there first thing the first day of the T and nada. I'm getting ready to move inside a little bit and a shiner guide goes in there and all I'm hearing is laughing and screaming and picture taking of my fish from the day before LOL. This is not more than 50 yds away. Pretty much the same thing over at another spot near Ritta. It is driving me nuts!!!!!

Well I just got back, I fished Thursday, Friday, Today.

Its insane, Kings Bar must have a million dinks in the Kissimmee grass, their in a foot of water, they aint gonna win you anything but their fun. The problem with pre fishing now is having the sense to leave biting fish to find the quality fish.

Pre fishing tournaments all the time is a thankless job, always searching when you find them running away from them until tournament day.

With no exaggeration I bet Ive caught a 100 keeper fish in the 3 day period. I think I finally found the winners, a 6 and 7 on consecutive casts, well see next Saturday, its probably going to take 30 pounds to win. This is the Classic, I'm going to take a little break afterwords and go have some fun.

Yes, like in I'm not going to the Lake (as much as would have liked). Caught a zillion fish yesterday but found it hard to get quality

No quality in the glades for me either. About all I've done is to rule out certain places for KOTG. The good news is that my teenage son will fish the tournament with me next weekend and he'll have constant action any place that we end up. Another good thing about the low water is to try out new baits. You find out quick what works  :)

We are headed down on the 9th to fish Lake O. We want to wear out the 11 year old catching fish and it doesn't matter if they are dinks or not (for him).  When he is done, whipped, worn out, we are going familiarize ourselves with the lake, so we have a better idea for our tournament in June.

I'm hoping to catch a big bass, but main focus this trip is to get the 11 year old excited about fishing on something besides the Xbox fishing game.

Then off to get an Okee Burger!! 8-)

On Saturday I fished along the alligator alley. I launched from the fire station/rest area SE boat ramp. I did pretty well with EZ's catching about 15 bass up to 3.5 lbs during the middle of the day.

On Sunday morning I fished out of Clewiston and struck out on the big bass. A lot of dink action, but nothing over 3 lbs. I saw a couple of big ones, but they would not bite.

Be careful Cowgirl its low. Bring the kids to the east side of Kings bar, stop about 500 yards out and idle in to the grass, throw naked swimmers along the edge of the grass and they'll catch a bunch of fish.

See you in June.

Thanks for the advice gar-tracker. We'll be careful. We don't want to replace a lower unit 2x in one year.

See you in June. :)

hey glades, where did you fish sunday, i fished west side of rita early, then moved to east wall and ran up just past uncle joes and fished the grass line...whole bunch of dinks. any idea where these 30 pound stringers are coming from?

Ive been mostly flippin grass patches and throwin dippers.

The east wall area;) The big fish are coming from occupied beds if you can find them. They spook easily. I was using gambler Ez's and rage craw's.
