I'm new to the site and do a lot of fishing for bass, trout, and salmon up in my home state of Washington. At the present time, I'm going to college in the San Jose area and am looking to do some fishing at the nearby lakes/reservoirs in the area. I have searched through Google Earth/Maps and have looked at all the lakes/reservoirs that are in my area. I'm just looking for some advice/direction...In general. I'm back to learning bass fishing cause I can only imagine that bass fishing down here is a real different ballgame then in Washington.

So if anyone has any directions for me as to where I should be headed and what I should be using, it would be much appreciated. I'm looking to do a lot of bass fishing here during the rest of my 3+ years of college so I'd really appreciate some tips/advice from you all...

I've had some luck at Steven's Creek.  Small but free  

calero reservoir is pretty good.

You have one of the finest bass fisheries in the world around there, the Cal - Delta area of the Sacramento and San Joquin Rivers. Lake Shasta is also very good but it's further away.
