I lived in the Wallamette Valley back in the Mid 90's. I fished a bunch of private ponds. But I never tried to find any public waters.

Try the Willamette River around Salem through Corvallis.   University of Oregon has a bass club for the students.

It is a little bit of a drive, but Tenmile Lakes in Lakeside are awesome.  Beautiful, and full of big largemouth.  It took over 20 lbs to win a tournamnent down there a few weeks ago, and that was in heavy rain, some snow and hail.  Great lake.

Where in the Willamette do you live? Will you be fishing from shore?

Tenmile is pretty heavily fished, but it is a good lake and pretty area. I fished it back in October with the UO club and caught a ton of small fish but nothing with any size. Depends on where you live... Tenmile, Mercer lakes on the coast (mercer is tough right now). Cottage Grove has been the best lake I've fished so far. Fall Creek is another decent spot.
