Going to Hawaii... NEED IDEAS

Featured Replies

For those of you who have been to Hawaii (The Big Island) and have been fishing there, can you recommend any places to fish.  I would ultimately like to fish for peacock or even Dorado.   I will be staying on the Northwest coastline.  Is there any lakes around that area?

I will be there from Sept. 26 - Oct 3.

Any help or information would be great.  You can PM me if you want.  Thanks

Brandon

Well its safe to say there aren't any lakes around you...so that limits your chances of Peacocks....

You said Northwest...is that around Honokaa?  Not sure if any sportboats leave from there, best bet for dorado would probably be out of Kona.

Thanks for the info... I'm staying around the Kona area.  And your right, there isn't much except for in the pacific.  I might take a charter but I'm not sure at this point.  I was really hoping for some peacocks.

I might meat up with a buddy who will be staying on the Pearl Harbor Island and go for some Peacocks.

Even if there is no fishing involved in this vacation it's just gonna be nice to get away.  Thanks again

you can fish off the rocks around the coast....

take some LC rip baits, krocs, and also some hooks/weights and some gulp or pick up some shrimp....

The only place I know of to catch peacock is on Oahu. There aren't any lakes on The Big Island. The Kona coast is legendary for great fishing. Get a guide for a day and have a blast.
