Favorite Drop Shot Weights?

Featured Replies

What drop shot weights do you find yourself buying these days? I need to try the ones that just clip to the line.

Quickdrop sinkers.

I can't get them here on the east coast so I mold my own but they are the best that I have found.

The cheapest ones.  I rig mine so if it gets stuck, the weight will come off before I break the line.  If I dropshot alot, i'll loose 6-10 in a day.  I usually use the round ones, but heard the long cylinder ones work pretty well.

They are my favorite too. How did you get a mold for those? I'd be all over that. Thanks!

I used to think that until I kept getting sinker strikes. This is caused by the sinker kicking up to much silt off the bottom and taking the attention away from the lure. It also can scare the fish away. So to fix the problem you need a sinker that will not bounce off the bottom. The long skinny ones are not the best choice for this. The round ones come off the bottom to easy. This makes the teardrop shaped ones the best choice for most dropshotting. They have a low center of gravity so they stay on the bottom better and they are pointed on the top so they get snagged less.
