I have been fishing a local stream for the past three years and have done decent with the smallies. I mainly use roostertails, Anybody else have any luck with the classic lure?

I have caught a couple of bass on rooster tails.

Generally speaking, roostertails produce small fish for me but sometimes they are good when other things aren't working.

Those baits are a ton of fun, but I don't like the Roostertail brand - I've experienced some line twist problems with them. I hear Panther Martins are good in that area, and my personal favorites are Blue Fox.

There's something awesome about catching a fish on an inline spinner. It's such a small bait, and you're using a simple, steady retrieve. Feeling the strike on an inline is one of my favorite sensations...you don't feel anything except the vibration as you retrieve it slowly, then SLAM! Love it  ;D

Not one of my confidence baits, but I have never really used them that much either.

In-line spinners have passed the test of time.     They caught fish back in the days and still catch quite a few fish.

Try a 1 oz in-line spinner for better fish.   Love the white bucktail w/ red trim.    

Love Mepps, Panther Martins, Roostertails, and the old standby, Shysters.

Yes thats the only time I use them, when nothing else is working.  Otherwise I rather throw a small spinnerbait.

In - Line spinners are a fantastic presentation for smallies in rivers, and they will catch BIG smallies. I use spinnerbaits in deeper sections of the rivers, and in - lines in shallower sections. Rooster Tails and Mepps are okay, but they are far inferior in action and fish catching ability than panther martins. Panther martins are the world's best inline, and it's not even close IMO.

Blue Fox Vibrax Minnow Spin is the greatest inline i have found. it was one of my best producers in the summer of '06. if you fish em on an UL setup in a small pond in the summer, you will pull out numerous amounts of bass, crappie, and jumbo bluegills. great lures!!!!

i personally do not like wordens rooster tails because i can never get the darn things to spin!

I don't like them, I can't get them to spin either.  I do like Mepps and Joe's Flies.  Caught quite a few bass out of our local pond on the fire tiger Joes Flies. Not enough experience with Blue Fox and I never have used the PanterMartin.  

Roostertails are great for trout, wouldn't say the same for bass, but definetly a great spinner when it comes to trout.

These also work great for trout too  8-).

GOOD. I caught my first bass on one and have caught one of my biggesT largemouth on one, i alos use bluefox just as much, probobly one of the most fun baits i use

For you guys that have trouble getting the spinner to take off, give the rooster tail a little tug right before you start your retrieve. As long as you don't slow it down too much the blade should spin all the way in.
