GAS PRICES

Featured Replies

OK does anyone understand this crap? A couple months ago gas was less than 2 dollars a gal. here and now its 2.85 this fishing season looks like a pretty darn expensive one!

Are'nt they all expensive?   Yea, gas sucks right now..........Especially when you drive a Ford F-350 with a V-10! Ouch!  :'(

yep it does suck...gas went up 0.10 in a matter of hours I saw them putting up the 2.55 gas prices up when I went to work at 2 pm and then got off at 10 pm and it was already 2.65.... crazy....and way to expensive for a little sleepy town in MO...

It cost me $107.00 to fill up this morning. >:( Sad thing is, I will be filling up again in four days. :'(

Sign of the times.  We proved last year that we were willing to pay $3 a gallon.  They'll continue to gouge us for every penney until EVERYONE does something about it.  I still think our trucks should quit hauling for a few days and you'd see a change.  What kills me is that the price at our Murphy USA went up 10 cents in one day last week.  I predict we'll be paying $3 by Memorial day.  $3.50 by July 4th.

I wish! Low octane, off brand gas is 3.35 and climbing here right now!

we were talking about this in english today, teacher said that they use a "summer blend" during the summer so your car runs better...we all thought it was a load and is really a bunch of crap

The gas companies aren't doing anything illegal, they are just making more money because of the way the importation works. It's not like they are increasing prices on their own to make more profits--there are tons of other factors involved ie: OPEC, Conflict in the Middle East, lack of adequate refineries...

Gas prices havn't, don't, and hopfully wont ever bother me. I get 24 miles for every peanutbutter and jelly sandwich on my ultra light fixed gear bike. There are plenty of fishing lakes within 2 hour bike ride around here.

My dad is a serius biker. Last year he biked just under 10,000 miles on his Trek (wich was worth more than the van we just sold). (including a trip aross america) My family bikes everywhere, to church (12 miles) the store, basicly anywhere.

If you changed gallons of gas into protiens the body uses while biking, the bike would get 2000 miles per gallon. (no joke)

On some weeks the car only has 80 miles on it. Biking is a whole lot cheaper, more refreshing, and it keeps you in shape. This country is so worried about going places and getting things yesterday, even if it cost them alot of $$$ and is the less enjoyable option.

Pretty hard to tow an 18 foot boat with a bike young man! ;) But kudos to you guys for riding everywhere. I would have a coronary if I rode down my driveway!

LOL maybe not, but me and my friends have plans for a small trailer used to pull a 12ft canoe that attaches to the tandom bike I own. The sandwich-to-mile ratio wont be as good (probaly 1 PJ for every 5 miles) but you got to do, what you got to do!

I could ride a bike, but I don't think leaving my house at 3:00 in the morning, in a suit, on a bike to get to work by 8:00 is a good idea.  Besides when I showed up for work smelling like a sewer, and looking like I showered in my clothes, I think my boss might be upset.

if anyone believes its the cost of refining, importing, etc etc......then look at what  Israel (sp) has been paying for the last 7-10 years.  The problem lies within our own borders, and our govs unwillingness to regulate the prices.

Anything under $4 a gallon this summer would be great. It is already 3.10 though. Thank god for company cars. Only have to use my truck to tow the boat.

The part that cracks me up is how you hear that it takes a while for a price change in crude to filter down to the public.  Well, that's partly true.

When an event occurs causing crude to increase, prices at the pump are up immediately.  When crude prices drop, we may see some of that drop a few weeks later.  Maybe...
