Mozilla firefox

Featured Replies

I feel a little dumb about this considering some of my previous comments about alternate browsers but I downloaded firefox.

It is different in appearance, so that will take a little getting used to, but it is faster and has some other features that I think I will like.

So apologies and thanks to those of you who advocated for this browser.

Question.

Shoud I uninstall IE 7 ?

also.  Any settings or other suggestions to maximize efficiency?

avid

PS.  The download and installation were very easy.

I feel even sillier replying to my own post, but there may be some folks interested so here's a little factoid.

I can't uninstall IE because I subscribe to yahoo launchcast radio and it will not work on firefox.

Error message read "Launchcast radio is currently not supported by mozilla firefox please review list of compatible browsers".

So, like I said there is ALWAYS a downside when one strays from Microsoft.

Bill Gates didn't get to be the richest man on the planet by being stupid.

Anyway.  I simply opened IE - turned on the radio, and have returned to BassResource.com on firefox with no apparent problems.

I don't know if anyone really cares, but I'm having fun.  :D

Guys from Long Island are so easily amused

avid,

I have used only firefox for ages and love it.  Check for firefox plugins and you may very well find your radio working lol.

Enjoy

I have both installed.  Seems like some websites like Mozilla some like IE.  I am just so used to IE, I use that 90% of the time.  It just feels like home. ;)

I switched to firefox last year.  Never goin' back to IE.  Virus protection is better.  Faster, and updates are always arriving so it shouldn't be long until your music is compatable.

I have had great luck with firefox for the past 3yrs. There are still a couple websites out there that I need to use explorer on though, but other than that firefox is my default.

wait till you get the hang of tabbed browsing!

Switched to firefox and hardly ever use IE anymore.  Supposbly firefox has a video download tool where you can download videos your watching on websites such as youtube, etc.  does anyone know what I am talking about and where I can find it on firefox?

You tube video's won't show on firefox.

when someone posts a link to a funny vid.  I have to use IE>

maybe it's those plugins?????

I've used Firefox for a couple of years and have been very pleased. I wouldn't uninstall IE because you may need it for the occasional site that doesn't show well on FF. In fact, I don't even know if IE is uninstallable because it is part of Windows.

I can play You Tube on FF.

YOu'll need to start getting the plugins for firefox. All the most popular ones are available for free at Firefoxs website.  I've only had a couple problems with pages loading over the years using FF and it's almost always sites that run frames.

I've had it about a month so far.  You tube plays fine.  You may have "other" issues (besides the obvious, lol)

I love tabbed browsing! I have 4 tabs up right now instead of 4 separate windows like IE would have.

I'm no brainiac on computer stuff but my sons are. They put me on Firefox a number of years ago and it works really well for me. Not sure what they did but everything (ie you tube etc,,,) works for me.

Definitely do not uninstall IE.  Every once in awhile, you find a site that just doesn't work that well in

FireFox.  I find some government sites require IE to work correctly.  But agreed with the previous posts,

FireFox is definitely a superior browser.

I have the the latest IE and have tabbed browsing and love it. I tried fire fox and couldn't tell the differnce.
