What is it about football that makes people crazy

What is it about football that makes people crazy and irrational.

I'm a NY Jets fan.  Today I was talking to a couple of fishing buddies who are NE Patriots fans about the cheating decision and penalties handed down by the NFL against the Pats.  These same guys who would draw and quarter a cheater in a bass tournament are vehemently defending Belichick's actions.  Go figure.

I don't know what you're talking about. ::)

I'm a sports fan.

I like the Dallas Cowboys.  Michael Irvin has always been a model citizen ;)

I'm also a Reds fan.  Pete Rose didn't do anything wrong :-X

;D

Sports can bring out the stupidity in us.

The Pats got off easy. Money is crap to these guys. It would have been better to suspend him a game because that would have interfered with the calling on the field and them possibly being the team with homefield advantage in the playoffs. Now the Pats will still probably give it to the Chargers this week and another big AFC team will have a loss under their belt. I know cheating is probably common place to some teams in the NFL and I bet some do it better than others. And that is the same reason why Mangini came out and stated he knew about the Pats cheating when he was in New England... ok isn't that pretty much giving away the fact that he may have been a part of it? Maybe he still uses the same tactics? There are too many coaches that defended NE's coach for this and lead me to believe that it is going on in way too many other franchises. If you ask me there needs to be a full league investigation into what materials these coaches are using to prepare for games. They need to be checked before and after getting off the field and that includes any staff, or type of coach coming on the field with the team. The only video cameras on the field should be the reporters, and the ones taping the game.  Give the game back to the players... the only technology worth a crap now is the "challenge booth" the refs use for instant replay and the feeds that allow HD to come into our houses.

It goes back to the Romans in the Coliseum and the gliadator fights in front of the crowds.

We can sit back and watch others get hit and injured and play well without putting ourselves in jeopardy.

We also get a vicarious thrill by having the team we support win the game.

Or...like a young lady told me once, she likes to see the big butts with their jockstraps showing through their pants!!!!!!!

For me, it just makes me happy to have my team win and your team lose.

Thanks Raul perfect answer!  That's what I'm talking about.  An obvious intelligent man reduced to Neanderthal tendencies when it comes to football.

I love that reply.  ;D

Down here it 's soccer  ;), no wonder why we should never discuss politics, religion and football or soccer..... pretty much a religion, obsession & passion. My compadre is a soccer fan and visits us at home specially during the Sundays, I 've got Sky at home, got any idea how many channels are dedicated to the mexican soccer league alone ? well, I don 't know how my compadre does it but he watches them all at the same time.  :o  Many times I just leave him at my home and go fishing on my own.

You're friend's are obviously biased. Those kind of hypocrites anger everyone, but what can anyone do about it?

As you can plainly see, I'm a pats fan, but rules are rules and what has gotta happen to them is going to.
