I totally got beat up this weekend, I usually don't miss more than 2 or 3 but this time it's 14/22. It's absolutely insane with little boys beating up on the big boys and the big boys shooting themselves in the foot over and over.

Another prime example why there has to be a playoff system   ;)

Great bunch of surprises this weekend.

Now the Texas-OU matchup and the LSU-Florida game have tremendous amounts of importance attached to them.

Either the Horns or Sooners are totally out of the BCS Championship picutre and Florida needs a big with in Tiger Stadium to stay in the hunt.

LSU needs to put Florida away so they can play South Carolina in the SEC Championship game and keep Auburn at bay.

With 85 scholarships allowed there is a lot of parity in the NCAA.

The games should really become more interesting as we get deeper into the season.

Hey, even K-State won.  And Kentucky.  And Maryland.

And Satan lost another one. Where are those "phantom" pass interference calls when you need them?

I am keeping to my prediction of LSU-Cal in the BCS National Championship game.  Of course, we have seven and eight games to go so anything can happen.

Geaux Tigers!

I don't see UT or OU in the National title hunt.      UT didn't look impressive at all this year, and OU has freshmen pulling the trigger as I have said all year.    Very few Freshmen QB's, no matter how talented the team is, can play mistake free football all season.  Congrats CU, your program needed a win like that for all the program distractions that have taken place the past few years......ditto to KSU, since Synder left, they have been down, their program needed to a good solid win also, twice in two years, that will help.

Were do we go from here?      All three Big EAst teams that was given any chance have been beatien early this year without having to play each other.    Good bye Rutgers, Louisville and WVU.     So long UT and OU.

CAl and USC is looming big down the road.         Wisconsin finally played some one with some salt this year as oppossed to only playing Michigan last year.    Michigan State gave them all they wanted Sat.     Wisconsin still has to get by Michingan, OSU.

Who knows about the SEC?     Any body want to break down the polls and SEC?     LSU, will they go undefeated?      Wonder what LSU and USC game would look like?

Matt

The sad part of Saturdays topsy turvey outcome was limited celebration of the OU/TU losses.  Why did it have to be to Colorado and KState. :(

What a funny year! Hopefully years like this one will get us closer to a playoff.  And by the way, how are the BCS pollsters going to figure out how to get an 0-5 Notre Dame into a BCS game?

I know we talk of playoffs, but regular season is a playoff system.    CU beat OU and that should put them out of the title hunt with top rated undefeated teams out there.  Ya, they can win the south and Big Xii overall, but don't make them in the hunt for the title with other undefeated teams out there.

You want a shot, you must win each game every week.     Now you loose one and say "thats why we need playoff system".

if teams were made to play stronger non-conference schedules, we wouldn't need a playoff system.

You look at USC almost every year.     They played ArK last year, who was in the title SEC game, got beat by USC 70-12 or close to it, then beat Nebraska, then beat ND.

Was there any doubt if USC won its conference, that they shouldn't be #1?   I don't need a playoff system when teams of that caliber go play some one.

Did you look at who Florida played last year?    8 home games, div II A school, was they deserving?    Not based on their non-conf schedule, they only played SEC teams, how can you judge the SEC when they don't play outside the conference.      CAl and Tenn, and Georgia and Colorado.    Wow, i'm impressed with why people want playoffs.

Go play some one that means something to prove why you should be there.

I was pleased to see Ohio State on Texas schedule.   I know that one loss could cost us the objective, winning the NCAA title, but there was no doubt after traveling to Ohio and winning on the road.     didn't matter if the Big XII was weak or not, Texas played them all, like playoffs and won to get to the big dance.

Playoff, just play some one of importance to get noticed, then win all your conf. games to get in and you'll be rewarded.

It is said that defenses win championships; out of 4 games USC is ranked 35th in points allowed per game, 3 of which were against unranked teams. Nebraska who is the only ranked team USC has played so far and they racked up 420 total yards with 31 points.

USC Defense

Points per game: 19.8

Yards per game 277.5

Total points: 79

Total pass yards: 817

Total rush yards: 293

At 35th USC is the highest rank PAC 10 team and that my friend is not a top caliber conference.

With a playoff system it would be doubtful that USC would even be in the playoffs ;)
