MUDDY LOOKS AT COLUMBUS DAY

Featured Replies

Hey Feellas: Since I am Italian I would like to share a non-revisionist angle of the Cloumbus Story as told to me by my Uncle Pasquale:

Ol Christobol( born in Italia) was foolin around with the Queen of Spain, so King Ferdi there gives him 3 ships and some bucks and sends him off to find the West indies ( Figuring he would never come back ;D)

So Cristobol gets lost, lands somewhere around the Domincan Republic, thinks he is in the West Indies and calls the people there INDIANS!!!!!!!! AND NOW HES A HERO

Now he has a Circle and a parade named after him HOW ITALIAN IS THAT!!!!!!!

Thats exactly Uncle Pasquales version, it is a little more to the point than most History texts ::)

Can't really blame him for being off to the right a bit,.....maybe he had trolling motor issues......... ;D :P ::) 8-)

Muddy, what the hell are you talking about? Everybody knows that Columbus was from Ohio and that he led the Lewis and Clark expedition in search for the Fountain of Youth before dieing at the Alamo. Geez, you Italians think you discovered everything.

You have entered the realm of posting excellence with that comment, LBH.   ;D

I understand Congress is considering issuing a formal apology on behalf of all people of Italian ancestry for the devastation caused by Christopher Colombus' tragic discovery of the so-called New World.  And it is my understanding that all those who enjoy the great benefits of Italian blood must also share the blame for the bloodshed sparked by that misguided Italian, as the voyage of Columbus lead to the foundation of the greatest oppressor nation the world has ever seen. They might also introduce legislation next week creating a new tax on pasta, pizza and certain sausages with the revenue going to pay reparations to the indigenous people of this formerly magnificent land.
