I was recently flipping through my most recent BPS circular and came across BPS version of the Horny Toad. The BPS Humpin' Toad...yes...that's right folks...the HUMPIN' Toad. As I sat and read the name over and over I couldn't help but laugh and think to myself "That has to be one of the worst names for a bait I have ever seen."

So what other baits do you guys know of that have bad or funny names? Another one I can think of off the top of my head is the Cotten Cordell Gay Blade.

How about the saltwater jigging spoon....Dealdy Dick ;D Some of the names are so funny. But look we can all think of them right away. Thats what they want. It works!

This isn't one of the worst, but I think one of the funniest and/or strangest. Years ago there was a lure called the Nipigon River Cockatush. I'm not sure, it might have been a spinner. I have a copy of my first-ever tackle order, which was with Cabela's in 1969, and that was one of the items I ordered. It was $0.59.

How about the Wing Ding? Thats a good one too. For those that aren't familiar it is Zoro Baits version of the chatterbait. Wing Ding what were they thinking?

Reaction Innovations products have the funniest names. Like others stated. don't forget. "the Big Unit" worm, and "Boom-Boom tubes" I use many of their products, but I like the " Mini skirt" the best. I love the look on guys faces when they asy, "what are you using?" I and I say "A mini skirt"  :-?I get that dog head lean look, and some guys just wlk away.

I have a custom Muskie/Pike lure, a guy made for me a few years ago. It looks like a broom stick, that is what its made out of. Its about 12 inches long. He called it the "Long Jimmy" The ones that he made were about 8 inches long and I ask him if he could build me one about 12 inches long. My name is Jim, so he painted "long Jimmy" on it.

Along those same lines is the Terminator Ball Buster Buzzbait.

x2 That is perfect marketing cause they know their market. I dont know how many times I have died laughing after my friend askes me what you catch that one on. I respond, "I got that one a Sweet Beaver in Penetration". Thats just classic comedy gold right there.
