Great pics, Lee. Thanks

I took about 20, and they all sucked.

A round of applause for fishindaddy. Well done

wow that's somethin else! very cool.

Awsome pictures!

Awesome.

What kind of equipment did you use?  I often have the opportunity for cool moon shots when I'm night fishing but never seem to capture what my eye was seeing....

LBH,

I was using a Sony CyberShot with Steady Shot and a 12x Optical zoom and 4x digital zoom.  My tripod was a giant bean bag on the roof of my wifes explorer.  Even with that, I have 385 shots that are terrible, well they are cool but you can't see any detail.  If I had a remote shutter switch it would be easier to get no blurry shots.  When you are zoomed in at 48X even your breathing makes for blurs.  BTW, the moon is the hardest thing I have ever tried to shoot.

Awesome pics, thanks a lot for posting them. Couldnt see it here do to a snow storm and sever overcast skies.

FD- Doesn't that cam have a timer? (allows for hands free operation)  Mine actually has higher zoom capabilities and has a timer you can set at 2secs or 10 secs.  My problem is I'm always in a boat.  Seeing what your cam will do, I WILL be pulling over to shore and setting up the tripod!!

When's the next eclipse???lol

again,...Cools shots

LBH,

The problem with the timer was the brightness of the part of the moon not eclipsed.  If you shot with timer the apperature would adjust to the brightest part in the frame...

GREAT pictures, guys!! Guess we'll have to wait until 2010 to get some more.

Nice i only took a few shots with my dads canon 20d, but the tripod was in the garage and i never bothered getting it.
