Living Will

WHILE I WAS WATCHING THE TV ONE WEEKEND, MY WIFE AND I GOT INTO A

CONVERSATION ABOUT LIFE AND DEATH AND THE NEED FOR LIVING WILLS.

DURING THE COURSE OF THE CONVERSATION I TOLD HER THAT I NEVER WANT

TO EXIST IN A VEGETATIVE STATE, DEPENDENT ON SOME MACHINE AND TAKE

LIQUIDS FROM A BOTTLE.

SHE GOT UP, UNPLUGGED THE TV AND THREW OUT ALL MY BEER.

SOMETIMES IT'S TOUGH BEING MARRIED TO A SMARTASS.

An "oldie but a goodie"! Still funny whenever I read it:o)

Serious subject made funny.

Note:  Even if you have a Living Will, it is still up to the doctor to pull the plug.

I know as they refused to take father-in-law off respirator in the hospital even though the family begged them to do it.

Sorry state of affairs.

That's a sad state if true Sam.  The wife and I had to disconnect our infant son from life support 21 years ago as he was losing his battle with a degenerative, hereditary birth defect.  Lots of lawyers were involved but no one on the hospital side stopped us.

New to me ;D! Thought it was great

To the serious side that Sam brought up: IMHO there REALLY should be a "quality of life" issue that is taken into consideration by all involved...
