Has anybody seen Hot Rods list of 100 "most" influential hot rods?

It is complete crap. THE GENERAL LEE WAS NUMBER ONE. Yes the show was good, Yes the movies sucked. BUT that is why you can not find a decent Hemi k-member for almost any charger now.

Also, Nowhere did I see Vic Edelbrock's Deuce roadster. If it was not for this car, We would not even have this hobby. Sorry for this people, but:

1 had to blow off some steam

2 This magazine Forgot where its roots are

3 Most of the cars that I saw were billet rods or pro street.

Never cared for that one (mag, series, movies or car). Don't know if you have seen any of these. Try Rodz or Rod and Custom Culture. Like both of them ...

           I'm not in to billet covered trailer queens or TV cars. The 55 driven by Harrison Ford in American Graffiti should be at the top of the list along with the Mustang from the movie Bullet. I tend to lean towards cars that are built buy guys like you and I. I run a 1963 Chevy2 that a buddy and I partnered on. It's in Primer and is a piece of junk. But for a home built street car with a 10 inch tire, she'll do the quarter in 10.60's on the motor. If I was to spray it...........it would take a little side cash to find out(if you know what I mean ). It was intended to do a little street racing, but handling problems kept me from that. Leaving the line with the left front tire 18 inches in the air and the right firmly planted on the ground, makes for a hand full on the street. Leaving the line on the bottle is a BIG no no!  

Looked over the list and was shocked to not see the Munster's cars or the Golden Sahara from "Cinderfella" on it:o) Hot Rod magazine has been going "downhill" for many years. I was happy to see that the '55 Chevy AND the duece coupe from "American Graffiti" were pretty high on the list. The original movie car driven by Paul LeMatt is now owned by a guy in San Francisco who found it ROTTING away behind someone's barn!!! I often wonder whatever happens to all those great movie/TV cars. I know some are sold at auctions and even on Ebay from time to time. Sure would like to have the 440 Six Pac 1970 Road Runner from the movie "Brewster McCloud" sitting next to my HemiBee:o)

Moroso makes tie ins to keep the frame from twisting. If you work and set the front end up correctly both wheels should come up relatively even. I ran a 67 Nova in IHRA and NHRA for many years and set seven NHRA and IHRA records. Never had a handling problen and this car was quicker than 10.60. The 63-67 have the same frame under them.

I'm pretty removed from the car scene these days. Thought I was gonna build tube frames for awhile, lol. But this is the coolest car ever built.

 You mentioned R&C. A friend got me a gift sub. for a year (this month is the last one ). IMHO they have always had the BEST tech. articles of any car mag...

Hey that is understandable, By the way nice car. What times does it run/how fast?

On BFG Drag Radials it has run 8.09 @ 181

On Mickey Thompson Drag Radials it has run 8.05 @ 184

On slicks with a bigger blower it has gone 7.73 @ 193

It leaves hard, hangs the front wheels for 300 feet....

If you look at the bottom of the back bumper you can see how high it tends to go sometimes.....

     The frame is tied/welded. Has a 8pt cage. Fully adjustable traction bars. Drag shocks and springs. It "only" runs 10:60's becauseof it's ill tempered handling. We had to retard the cam timing 4 degrees and a timed throttle stop just to calm it down to do that. Once it sets the tire back on the ground, it spins.

Has the front syspension had the correct toe in and campher set after it was reworked? Does the car have a four link under it. Is the body shifting and closing the gap between the rt. fender and door? If not a four link have you checked the load on the rear traction bars? There is no way that car should be lifting one tire that high. It's all in the frame and it can be straightened out. Has someone put tubs in this car and relocated the spring hangers? Has the frame been boxed to strengthin it? If not that will be the first thing you need to do to lock it up. Make sure it is in alignment.
