this nice bass kept hitting this one spot in my neighborhood pond. i kept throwing my most reliable gary yamamoto sinko at him and got no hits...yet he was taring the water up alll around. what should i do?

What was he tearing up? Minnows? Shad? Throw a fluke, or a rattletrap, or a rapala at him and see what happens...

they were small minnows he was attacking, coming from deeper water right to the very shallowest water.

Buy some Zoom Fluke Jrs in shad/minnow colors with some 1/0 Gamagatzu worm hooks and see what happens  ;D

I agree with the post above. I like the mini fluke, smokin shad. Use a 1/0 Gamagatzu. Hook it through the nose as you would if you were dropshotting.  Berkley also makes something similar, but I can't think of the name.

I use no weight or at the most a very small splitshot against the hook. If he's feeding on top, throw it out and bring it back to you with a retrieve so fast that it keeps the fluke on top of the water. When the feeding slows, slow the retrieve down and let the bait fall before jerking in 6" sweeps.

Also, an F-7 Rapala might do the trick.  Even a HJ-10.

i just wanna thank you guys, i took your advice and used a small shad dart and caught a 4 pounder and a 5 pounder in 30 minutes!

Good work!  Something else you could throw, is a crank bait.  Something in shad color.  I like to throw a Big O, by cotton cordell!    I like to throw the smokin' joe, with bleeding gills, and red chin.  Works great, when the bite is bad!
