Rigging tubes backwards?

Featured Replies

After I read about how people rig their fat ikas backwards, I was wondering if anyone rigs their tubes backwards and thinks they have better success rigged that way.  The reason I asked is I bought 72 packs of tubes from cabelas for $35 and i better learn how to fish em  ;)

I have never fished a tube backwords or upside down but I do catch a lot of fish on a tube.  There is a great section on here about fishing tubes and all the different methods.  I would read it.  The tread is very informative.

Good Luck once you catch on to it you will love them tubes are one of the most versatile baits available.

Wow 72 packs your going to be busy! :;) I rig a tube backwards when I pitch sometimes in thick weeds. I use a screw on bullet weight at the head and I rig it with the hook backwards with the line going out the back. When I pitch it the lure hits the water head first and makes a little easier to hit small openings in the weeds. I don't rig them that way all the time but in some situations.

Tubes are not like Ikas, if you don 't weight your tube like Chris just explained you won 't get the action you are looking for, otherwise, tubes can be rigged in almost any way you can rig all them soft plastics and they work !
