Tropical Storm Fay

Featured Replies

Us here in FL are doing ok but volusia county is getting pounded pretty hard right now. Brevard county is flooded. This will probably screw up the fishing for a good month. The storm is now stationary and just pounding the east coast of Volusia County. I'm about 500 yards from the beach maybe and we will be ok. Anyone else feeling the effects of fay?

I had 10-15 MPH winds and not even the slightest drop of rain.Everyone here was making such a big deal out of it,but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

I was supposed to drive to New Port Richey tomorrow for a hearing, but the bosses decided they didn't want us driving in the storm so they postponed it.

Looks like fishing will be out this weekend, but I will be glad to see the water in many of our low lakes.

Florida's really taking a beating with all the rain. Let's keep em all in our thoughts and prayers and send some good mojo they're way.  :)

not to mention all the rain here in Souther Georgia.... making it hard to get out that is for sure... the rain wouldn't bother me.. but the occasional thunder clap is keeping me in...

Send that stuff north about 150 miles.. we need it up here in N. Georgia.

believe me... I wish I could... I feel for y'all up there...

It is headed right for us. I guess I will need to go pick up some brats and some brew this evening.  ;D

Here it is Saturday, and we still have roads closed in St. Lucie county.  Unbelievable how much rain has fallen.  AP reported that an astonishing 25 inches of rain fell in Melborune, which is in Brevard County.  I read that the big O is back up to it's average level, the downpour having reversed several years of drought.

I'm not really in the loop with inshore conditions, but all this freshwater runoff must be wreaking some mighty havoc.

If Fay follows predictions (which is saying alot) it will hit Florida yet again, and go into the record books as the only named storm to have landfall 4 times.

Amazing.

Thanks for the info, Avid.

I had no idea the storm hit Florida four times.

If weather predictions are right, and as Avid says, who knows?, we may receive some rain from the storm starting Thursday and continuing into the weekend way up here in Richmond, Virginia.

We really need the rain.

Sorry you all in Florida got drenched by the rainfall.  I hope all of our Florida members are OK.

We haven't had all that much wind here in Tallahassee, but my yard is full of small branches from the pine trees.

A lineman from our electric company, Talquin Electric Co-op, was killed by a falling tree yesterday.   I get pretty upset with customers who call us at the Public Service Commission while a storm is still going on complaining that their power is out.  I don't hesitate to tell them that we don't expect a lineman to climb a pole and risk his life so they don't have to miss Wheel of Fortune.
