I just went to an Exon station to get gas and they would only let me get $40.00 worth due to the storms in the Gulf. Has anyone else experienced this. I stay in eastern NC. I need to know, my business depends on gasoline. Sure hope the 70's ain't coming back.

I'm not surprised.  All of the refineries along the Gulf Coast have shut down.  It'll take about a week for them to come back on line, assuming they are not damaged.  The big question is how much gasoline has been stockpiled?

Just looked at the news and the Government is going to release a couple of gallons for us to use.

Same here with the $40 for gas and $150 for diesel.  The price also hopped .50 a gallon and I was in a meeting where several guys got calls/text messages that it was going to hop over $5 a gallon tonight.  I thought it was just another crazy rumor until I stopped by the gas station after the meeting.

I filled up $54 worth at $3.65 about 15 minutes ago after hearing the news. I am in Northwestern N.C.

Wonder why the gas prices didn't go up when a storm was in the gulf five years ago. Dxxm bunch of crooks.

I have not encountered this in the geographical Richmond, Virginia area.

I am going to fill up the SUV and boat today or tomorrow so I will find out, shortly.

If this is true, I guess I will be making two stops. One at the BP and a second at the Exxon.

It's not about OIL supply but gas supply and that is a refineries issue.

There are no limits here in the Houston area as of this morning. Prices are running around 3.50 a gallon. That's up .20-.30 a gallon since Wednesday. Some stations were out yesterday, but tankers were delivering  so most were reopening as it arrived. You just had to look around.

I thinks it's a good idea to decentralize and probably build new ones, but I remember just a few months ago they shut some down for get this a over supply of gas!!

No problems with rising gas over here on the west coast.  Infact when i went to work it was 3.69, coming home it was 3.61 ;D

Luckily 1 tank of gas in the civic can last me 3 weeks.  It's SWEEEEETTT!!!!
