My fractured ankle makes me feel great!

Featured Replies

Because the doc prescribed me Lortabs  8-). I got bumped playing basketball Sunday night and my left foot landed on the drop off between Court and grass, theres about a 1 1/2" difference in height, SNAP! I have never broken a single bone in my body but when I landed I instantly said "yep.....broke my ankle". One purple/blue/black ankle and one bottle of Lortabs and im a happy camper  .

at least you can still fish!!!!

The bummer is what you may deal with for the rest of your life.

I broke lots of things thru my skiing career (arm-ulna,back-t2&3,scapula,fingers, thumbs, right wrist, etc)  but none of those injuries haunt me too bad.  Except my wrist.  Doc said wrists and ankles, worst bones to break when it comes to them affecting you later in life.(3rd is your back, lol, I went for the tri-fecta)

Personally, Id rather break my wrist 3 times than a femur once.

Heal up buddy :)

Sorry to hear about your adventure but you now have the fall and winter to heal and get ready for the spring.

I sprained my ankles playing high school basketall so many time that my ankles are very loose now and I have to be very careful not to twist them.

Along with two damaged knees I have to be extra careful when fishing in the boat.

As they say in dog obediance school...heal!  ;D

what the heck i broke both my ankles but never got prescribed lortab i got ripped off

I suffered an Avulsion fracture to my right foot 12 years ago. A tendon ripped off the side of my foot and took a chunk of bone with it. Still hurts on occasion.

Good luck.

Hard to be in automotive training with busted feet......

Be careful pain killers are very addictive- I had a friend go all "Brett Farve" on us- did anything he could to get some more of those d**n things- My girlfriend works in admitting at the local hospital and they call people "drug seekers" claiming rediculous injuries to get meds. Proceed with caution.

No amount of painkillers are worth a broken ankle.  I broke my ankle skateboarding about 5 years ago, and to this day I still blame that for keeping me from playing college soccer.  It still acts up on me about once a week and will be sore the next day after any kind of strenuous activity.

Make sure to take ample time to recover and keep plenty of ice on it.  I rushed the healing process on mine, and it never got back to 100%.

LBH- I have broken most bones in my legs, tibia, fibia, two metatarsals, and my femur. My femur was by far the worst. It was so painful to sit down and use the bathroom  :-[

ive broken 4 bones while snowboarding and the ankle was the worst even though it was a hairline fracture. they xrayed, threw on the cast and said come back in 3 weeks. 3 months later i was still in a cast even after the fracture didnt show up in xray anymore.

if your injury is like mine was, after a while you will feel like you can ditch the crutches and put a little weight on the ankle. the next day it will hurt again and delay the healing process.

I ditched the crutches last week  :-/. I cant afford to miss work, I have an incredible opportunity to learn things that I have wanted to do for so long and I don't want to miss out. Plus I actually love going to work every single day. I try not to over do anything and take it as easy as I can so I think I'll be ok.

I've broken both wrists rollerblading, REALLY messed up my shins, and was knocked out with a concussion once. All from skating. The thing I'm most scared of is breaking my femur wakeboarding though. It's a pretty regular thing to break wakeboarding.  :o
