Today's email contained some of the best news I've gotten in a long long time.

Ryne Sandberg was named manager of the Tennessee Smokies yesterday.  That means Ryno will just be 2.5 hours away.  Ol' Burley is finally gonna be able to shake the hand of the greatest 2nd baseman to ever play the game.

I've got a Baseball Hall of Fame program just waiting for his signature.  

I searched down deep for a cubs remark...I got nothing.

I'd like to see Sandberg become a very successful manager. He's one of my favorite baseball players.

Where do the Smokies play? I'd like to catch a game when visiting my family if possible.

I figured you would be happy when I saw that in the paper today Burley.

Robinson's stats are nowhere near as good as Sandberg's.

For my money Robison also was a steal threat ( Stole home many times) and had a better throwing arm.

I don't know about ESPN but he belongs in Cooperstown ( He IS) and he is on the top of the list of greatest 2nd basemen. I believe Rhino stated that in his own induction speech .
